COME HOME AND FROM HERE, WE MEET THE WORLD AGAIN

Coming home can sound like turning inward.

Listening more carefully.

Meeting each part of ourselves more fully.

We needed that.

But HOME was never meant to become another place to hide.

There was still a world outside.

People we loved.

Work that mattered. Money to earn. Promises to keep. Things worth creating.

People we had not yet met.

Coming home had not removed any of this.

It was changing how we met it.

One morning, I opened my laptop and saw the waiting world.

Messages to answer. Documents to review. Possibilities asking for attention.

I could hear different parts of me.

The Achiever wanted movement.

The Builder saw possibility.

The Helpful One could already see who might need support.

The Strong One said, I can handle it.

These parts matter.

They helped build much of the life I am grateful for.

But now another question sometimes arrives first:

What is actually mine today?

Not everything meaningful.

Not everything I could help with.

Not every possibility I can imagine.

Today.

That question has changed ordinary things.

I can say no without withdrawing love.

I can lead without carrying everyone’s decisions.

I can give someone space to find their own answer.

I can receive without asking it to prove my worth.

I can keep a promise before beginning another beautiful project.

None of this looks extraordinary.

That is why it matters.

For years, I understood impact mainly through what we could create.

A programme. A community. A company. A leader growing. A venture beginning.

I still want to create.

But now I also notice what happens while we create.

Do people become more capable, or more dependent on us?

Can what we build grow without consuming the people building it?

Do the people we love receive our presence, or mostly our intentions?

These questions have not made my ambition smaller.

They have made my understanding of impact wider.

I think again of the girl from Bắc Giang.

The village road. The bicycles. The field. The kite.

She wanted to know where the road went.

I am glad she went.

Glad she studied, travelled, worked, tried, built, loved and dreamed beyond what she could see.

I do not want to stand at the other end of the road and correct her.

I want to thank her.

And tell her:

You do not have to choose between the road and HOME.

You can live from HOME while walking the road.

There will still be mornings when I forget.

The Achiever will wake.

The Builder will become excited.

The Good Daughter will want everyone to be okay.

The Dreamer will already be somewhere beyond the horizon.

And another voice may quietly say:

Jen.Come back.

Sometimes I will hear her sooner.

Sometimes I will not.

But I know this now:

I can return without rejecting the part of me that wandered.

Return to my body.

To the person in front of me.

To the work that is mine.

To love, play and ordinary life.

Then open the door again.

Because there are still people to meet, things worth creating and lives worth living.

The thousand Souls do not need to become quiet before we begin.

They can come with us.

Not as a crowd fighting for control.

As the many parts of one life.

Many selves. One life.

And from HOME, we meet the world again.
