Masterpiece

#MASTERPIECE #supersundaygratitude #jencoaching

One time, we hosted a leadership development program for a startup team—a beautiful mix of seasoned leaders, investors, and young core members.

At the end of our very first session, one of the youngest members—just 20 years old—stood up, eyes wide, voice honest:

“I don’t know where I am in the team…

Working with all these Masters…

I honestly don’t know what my role is.”

The room went still for a second. Then, gently, one of the mentors smiled and said:

“That’s a powerful place to begin—from curiosity and honesty.

Just keep walking through the next experiences. Let them speak to you.”

And he did.

He joined fully. Listened deeply. Took action. Collaborated.

Then came the final reflection the next day.

We circled back and asked, “So… have you found your answer?”

He looked around at the team, a soft light in his eyes, and replied:

“I see so many things that need to be done now.

I can imagine myself stepping into one of the Masters’ roles—

not yet, maybe—but someday.

I don’t need to rush.

I just need to master what’s mine, at my own pace.

Because we all have our role in life.”

That moment landed.

Each of us—at different ages, from different walks of life—sat in the truth of it.

We are all Masters.

Masters of our own lives.

And when we come together in honesty, curiosity, and courage…

Each part becomes a stroke—

In the masterpiece we are co-creating.

REFLECTION CORNER: OUR MIND — A FACTORY OF IMAGINATION

You know, our mind is like a factory.

It never stops producing—thoughts, stories, imaginations.

Sometimes, it lifts us up:

“You’re growing, you belong here.”

Other times, it whispers:

“You’re not enough…”

“They’re ahead of you…”

“You don’t have a place in this room.”

Especially when we’re surrounded by people who’ve mastered their pieces, our inner factory can shift into overdrive—creating doubt, comparison, even silence.

We can do the shift:

+ We acknowledge the feeling.

+ We honor the voice.

+ Then, gently, we thank it.

“Thank you, mind, for trying to protect me.

But I choose something different now.”

We thank life, too—for putting us in rooms with greatness.

Because it means we are meant to rise.

We re-focus:

What can I do?

What can I learn here?

How can I contribute with my piece?

And just like that, we harmonize—each of us playing our part.

Not louder, not quieter—just true.

And the masterpiece?

It doesn’t come from perfection.

It comes from presence, learning, and willingness to show up even when our minds say not to.

Because together, we create what no one could alone.

Thanks for co-creating this beautiful life
