#RebirthLeadership #JenCoaching
This week, I had a chance to share in an academic setting something that has been part of my real life and close to my heart for many years — bringing lived practice into conversation with research:
REBIRTH LEADERSHIP — FROM DOING TO BECOMING.
And the session was chaired by a pioneer in personal development whose work and presence reminded me of the roots of intention and inner motivation.
The universe always finds one way or another to co-create with us.
For much of our lives, we learn to focus on doing.
What should I achieve?
What should I build?
What should I contribute?
And doing matters.
It allows us to learn, create, serve, and bring things into the world.
And somewhere along the journey, another question may arise:
Who am I becoming while doing all of this?
Sometimes, the person we have been has served us beautifully.
The good one.
The strong one.
The achiever.
The responsible one.
The leader who knows.
The person others can count on.
There is nothing wrong with these versions of us.
They carried us here.
And then, quietly, they may no longer fully fit.
We start asking 'What happens when who we were
no longer fits
who we are becoming?'
That tension is not something we need to escape.
It can be a doorway.
A doorway from living mainly through expectations, roles, achievements, and what the world needs us to be — toward listening more deeply to who we truly are and who we are becoming.
Not becoming more impressive.
Becoming more true.
Truer in how we live.
Truer in how we love.
Truer in how we work.
Truer in how we lead.
Truer in what we choose to give to the world.
This is the meaning of our Rebirth Leadership:
Leadership is not only about what we DO.
It is also about who we are BECOMING —
and allowing our doing to flow from our BEING.
Research gives us a way to explore this through professional identity learning.
The work with leaders gives us a place to witness it.
And life itself keeps giving us opportunities to practise it.
So this Sunday, instead of only asking:
'What more should we do next week?"
We can also ask:
Who are we becoming — and what becomes possible when what we do flows more truly fully from who we are?
With gratitude for all the versions of us that carried us here —
and with openness to the souls we are still becoming.
Happy Sunday, Super Souls.
